At Retrofit Solutions we provide a range of business-to-business services to help deliver carbon savings through high quality domestic retrofit.

We are fully aware that the positive movement towards whole house retrofit is associated with increased requirements in the standards of both design and installation. Incorporating mandatory ventilation improvements, for example. Ventilation is a complex topic and in order to deliver a compliant system, you need to both understand ventilation and have the correct qualifications and competencies to deliver it.

PAS2035

PAS 2035:2019 Retrofitting dwellings for improved energy efficiency.

PAS 2035:2019 is the over-arching document in the retrofit standards framework, with which users of the TrustMark Government endorsed quality scheme are required to comply when carrying out domestic retrofit work. It covers how to access dwellings for retrofit, identify improvement options, the design and specification of Energy Efficiency Measures (EEM) and the monitoring of retrofit projects.

The standard drives a ‘whole house approach’ to domestic retrofit including the ‘fabric first’ methodology. It defines the qualifications and responsibilities of individual retrofit roles and respective activities required before, during and after installation of energy efficiency measures.

Retrofit Solutions Managing Director, Adrian Hull was heavily involved in the development of this standard through his support of the PAS2035 Steering Group.

There are a number of key roles within PAS2035 including;

THE RETROFIT ASSESSOR

Responsible for surveying, assessing the building and collecting information to inform the retrofit design.

RETROFIT COORDINATOR

A specialist retrofit project manager who oversees the assessment, specification and evaluation of energy efficiency measures in a retrofit project.

RETROFIT DESIGNER

A specialist designer who is qualified in one or more energy efficiency measures and who provides the design to the installer.

We provide both Retrofit Assessment and Retrofit Coordinator services through our network of experienced and qualified team members. Additionally, we are also able to provide ventilation design services too.

Retrofit Solutions Ltd is led by Managing Director Adrian Hull. With over 20 years of experience in the energy efficiency sector, Adrian is also founder of leading quality assurance and compliance business THS Inspection Services Ltd. Bringing a wealth of experience from the industry, he has also delivered over £1bn worth of public funded domestic energy efficiency measures in the UK and Canada.

Chair of ATMA, Adrian is also a longstanding member of the PAS2030 and and PAS2035 Steering Groups and now sits on the Retrofit Coordinator Scheme Provider Working Group. He holds the following qualifications including:

  • Level 5 Diploma Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management
  • Understanding Conservation (Traditional Buildings) CIOB
  • Competent Person – Installation and Commissioning of Domestic Ventilation Systems
  • NVQ Level 2 Insulation and Building Treatments
  • Carded operative for several CWI, EWI, IWI and UFI systems
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • BSc: Environmental Management
